Welcome! We hope you have fun and enjoy our products as much as we do creating them. You're invited to unmask the possibilities...

New Orleans Masks is another incarnation of our bustling retail spot, which has been in the French Quarter for over twenty-five years. It has been know as Stark Realities, False Fronts and, for the last fifteen years, Little Shop of Fantasy. This magical store was created by Mike Stark, the premier feathered mask-maker in New Orleans, an artist who inspired and mentored many local and national artists. Little Shop of Fantasy store signAnn and Laura Guccione, natives of New Orleans, who became partners in the shop in 1992, have continued Mike Stark’s legacy.

Each of the masks at New Orleans Masks is a handmade, original work of art to be worn, displayed or – hopefully – both. The masks’ materials run the gamut from papier mache, leather, fibers, plaster and cloth. They are adorned with feathers, jewels, fabric, sequins and anything else you can imagine. We also offer accessories such as boas, wings, tiaras, fangs – nearly everything needed for a masquerade or a night out on the town.

Also available are specially designed and created masks in large quantities for themed parties, weddings, conventions, and any other event you can dream up. Please contact us directly for more information and quotes on these types of special projects.

Hurricane Katrina's aftermath sent us in a different direction: an online presence, a place where they can spread their love of New Orleans and its Carnival, Mardi Gras and Halloween traditions to the world. Post-Katrina, we are working out of our home about a mile outside the French Quarter in the now famous Ninth Ward; please email us if you’re in town and need something. Check our web page for updates because we hope to be reopened in the Quarter soon. Thanks for all the outpouring of love and support from all our customers.

Thanks for Masking! & Keep on Keeping ON
